After Videosync you’ve installed, using video in Ableton Live 9 is almost as easy as using audio. But before you can use Videosync in your Ableton Live Set, we first need to follow some steps.
- A recent Apple computer with at least OS X 10.10.
- The latest version of Ableton Live with Max For Live, using an up to date version of Max.
Start by downloading Videosync from our download page. Copy the folder containing the app and plugins to your applications folder. Launch the Videosync app.
Installing the Control Surface
Videosync needs a ‘Control Surface’ to work. You can install the Control Surface in all your Ableton Live applications by clicking ‘Install Control Surface’ in the main menu.
Restart Ableton Live after installation and select the Control Surface in the Ableton preference window.
In your Live Set, drag-and-drop the ‘Master’ plug-in onto your master track. The master plug-in should read ‘Connected’. If this is not the case, go to our ‘Connection Troubleshoot’ post.
Now you can use Ableton Live 9 for video playback. Just drag-and-drop a video file onto an audio track and press play!
