I’m looking at the AnalysisGrabber in the LiveGrabber suite of tools, and it seems to offer better audio analysis than the Envelope Follower, therefore ideal for audiovisual performance.
But it’s designed to send data out of Ableton, not elsewhere within it.
Is there an easy way to access that data to activate/modulate Ableton devices without going out and back in with OSC? Or just an easy way to do that? I can’t figure it out…?
ok, i’ve worked out how to send and return via OSC. Bit fiddly though. The analysis part of the Grabber is superb. I don’t really understand it, but it’s quite intuitive to use, so I don’t have to understand it in order to start.
It would be great if there was a non-OSC version that functioned like a much more sophisticated Envelope Follower. It would be a very useful tool for a/v performance, especially using incoming realtime audio.
